Talk & Tips

Getting your MS Word Doc Ready for the Internet as PDF

You can use the built in hyperlinks and cross-references created in your MS Word document rather than having to edit your PDF (Portable Document Format) file later on. This is a big time saver and makes your file very friendly. Here are four steps that make for a cleaner and friendlier PDF file.

  1. Create an Automatic Table of Contents (TOC).
  2. Create Cross-references using Bookmarks. The cross-references will be saved in your Word document and in your PDF file so that you can jump from page to page easily.
  3. Create Hyperlinks within your MS Word Document. You can manually add hyperlinks to another part of your doc or to a URL.
  4. Create a PDF File.
  5. Add Web Links.
